Conservatories & Orangeries – the future looks bright

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

An orangery is a stylish way to extend your home – it can be an ideal solution to creating extra living space that can be used throughout the year.

How often have you thought about extending your home but don’t want to go through the planning process – and have the hassle of several weeks of disruptive building work?  Well now you can and the alternative in a stylish contemporary orangery and they are fast becoming the latest must-have extensions.

While an orangery has traditionally been synonymous with luxury country houses, the latest contemporary bespoke designs are just as at home in the suburbs as they are in the country.

Easy on the eye as they are on the pocket, they make a stunning alternative to conservatories.

With more brickwork showing than conservatories, these contemporary living spaces generally don’t need planning permission or any special building regulations. It is understandable why many people have switched to orangeries which can have around half of the wall area in brickwork – making it feel more solid and room-like while light still floods in from the self-cleaning solar control glazed roof.

And what’s more they can be designed with a unique internal lighting pelmet for soft low voltage down-lighters which can be used during the evening while you watch the plasma screen TV in your cosy new living space.

One company which has really caught on to the orangery phenomenon is Conservatory Outlet. While the team has many years experience in conservatories, they have now diversified and adapted their skills into designing and building orangeries which now account for over half their trade.

Former property developer and current Managing Director John Beaty has 16 years in the home improvement industry while his partners Andy Ross, Installations Director has over 25 years providing a quality installation service, whilst Chris Mitchell has run a professional sales team for over 16 years.

“There has been a massive switch to orangeries,” says Chris. “They are more affordable than a traditional extension, they are versatile and they are stylish. Our orangeries tend to become the feature room of any home.”

Employing a team of around 60, Conservatory Outlet is proud of its top quality service and level of customer satisfaction.

Their customer charter is testament to this – it guarantees all the work they carry out, gives value for money,  assures confidence, honesty and professionalism.

When Conservatory Outlet visits a customer for the first time they will discuss exactly what they want to achieve. All the sales executives are trained in Computer Aided Design (CAD) so they are able to show the client what their conservatory or orangery will look like.

They will also discuss budget and a schedule of work to be carried out and it is here where Conservatory Outlet excels.

“We stick to the schedule religiously and keep the customer informed every step of the way,” says Andy who adds that Conservatory Outlets deals solely with domestic customers.

If you want your new living space to be an office, family room, playroom or sunroom, you can design it to your individual needs. The Conservatory Outlet has numerous conservatories and orangeries displayed in their 10,000sq ft premises – over half of which is devoted to showroom space.

You can choose your own interior style from a huge range of tiles, laminate flooring and lighting and the team at the Conservatory Outlet will advise on electrical wiring, under-floor heating or traditional radiators for all-year round comfort, as well as various window and door options.

No matter what you style of property be it contemporary or traditional the team will also advise you on the best conservatory or orangery to suit your needs.

The team at Conservatory Outlet can also advise you on various other products they supply including energy-saving A-rated windows, aluminium bi-folding doors, modern composite doors and if you have a traditional property, sliding sash pvc windows.

Well over 50 per cent of the Conservatory Outlet’s work comes from recommendation from previous customers who are delighted with the efficiency and attention to detail – and of course the finished result!

Just take a look at what’s on offer at their showrooms and you will most definitely be impressed and inspired.

Orangeries – Contemporary Conservatories

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

Some people are wondering what exactly is an ‘Orangery’? Well, the orangeries we sell at Conservatory Outlet are a kind of contemporary conservatory.

One of the main feature of our Orangeries is that we utilise brickwork/stone columns within the structure, so that you don’t have the uPVC conservatory bay pole or corner posts you would normally find with a Conservatory.

orangery39

We also tend to fit internal lighting with downlighters which creates a great look to the inside of the Orangery Design, and sets it apart from a normal conservatory. To describe the difference simply; an orangery is designed more like a glass extension or sunroom with a combination of glazed frames and walls. We normally install a glass roof on our orangeries and this offers great lighting in to the extension.

The images shown are taken from examples of installed orangeries and from our a previous client of ours, who have agreed to lend us their orangery for a photo-shoot.

orangery17

There are numerous orangery designs available, including Victorian Orangeries, Edwardian Orangeries and more modern oranageries.

The real advantage of Conservatory Outlet orangeries is that they are very affordable! If you’re looking for a quote, please use our free online quote on the main Conservatory Outlet page.

Conservatories Manchester

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

Dear Sir/Madam,

Not long ago we ordered a Conservatory in Manchester. We were looking for a new Conservatory as we felt that it was the time to add to our home and were possibly looking at moving.

But in this time it would have been very hard to have sold our home, so we decided that adding an extension was the right way to go. When we do come to sell, it will also add to the value of our home as well, so we see it as a good purchase.

We chose your website, after being recommended it by someone at work, and then requested a quote from you. We received a follow up call and the service was very good – the staff didn’t seem pushy or pressure us in to any decisions. Instead we arranged a meeting time and they visited us and drew us a conservatory design based on our ideas.

The pricing scheme was very good as well. The spreadsheet design showed when parts were added or removed, the price was automatically adjusted. This was extremely helpful as we were working to a budget.

Our PVC Conservatory looks great now it’s installed and we’re very happy to have done business with you.

All the best,
C. Roone.
Manchester.

Conservatories and orangeries – search local

Monday, April 20th, 2009

Be wary when searching for a new conservatory, windows or doors online as it may be difficult to find a credited company you can fully trust.

Here is some useful information:

There are a number of websites offering to help put you in touch with ‘reputable’ companies in your area. The suggestion they make is you can gain some information from these companies online for the proposed work, but in reality the websites are trying to get you to enter you personal information online. The bad news about this is they then sell it to other companies.

This is a problem. You will be contacted by a sales person or two, who will pressure you over the phone in to a meeting, without you being able to do any research beforehand. This will leave you in a vulnerable situation and lead to a high pressured sales meeting. We’ve heard these stories from many customers, before they found us.

We feel that if you’re looking for a quote for home improvement products from conservatories to orangeries and uPVC doors, you are better off spending more time searching for companies in your area, rather than purely relying on these lead generation sites to supposedly do the work for you.

The local companies you find are a lot more likely to have near by conservatory showroom where you can view the quality of the products for yourself, which is very important when it comes to improving your home. So by doing your own research, you will end up finding the best local company for you and have a great experience.

Bespoke conservatories and orangeries supplied in Europe

Monday, January 12th, 2009

A TEESSIDE-BASED bespoke designer of upvc conservatories and orangeries has broken into Europe for the first time after sealing five-figure contracts with two companies in the Netherlands.

Hartburn-based Vetro Vivo – established by qualified draughtsman Mike Farrell two years ago – has also won a six-figure contract to design a new restaurant at Headlam Hall near Darlington and is eyeing up Asia, Indonesia, Dubai and Russia to boost current annual revenues of more than £300,000.

The company is also opening a joinery operation to part-make some products and eventually hopes to bring all manufacturing in-house.

Mike, who spent 12 years working for a major conservatory manufacturer, says: “Why keep a business in your back yard when there are opportunities all over the world? We have spent two years building up a UK-wide client base and I see no reason why we cannot tap into projects going on in other countries.”

The name ‘Vetro Vivo’ – Italian for Living Glass – was born from Mike’s passion for producing designs and buildings that make the people within them feel alive. A keen traveller, he has developed a studious eye for different architectural styles in countries such as Australia and Thailand.
